In 2019, Thomas Normandeau made finals in the T47 800-m at both the IPC World Championships in Dubai and the Lima 2019 Parapan Am Games, his first major Games. He was sixth in Lima and eighth in Dubai and held the Canadian record at the end of the season. Those competitions were his first-ever trips outside North America.

En 2019, Thomas Normandeau a atteint les finales du 800 m T47 à la fois aux Championnats du monde du CIP à Dubaï et aux Jeux parapanaméricains de Lima 2019, ses premiers grands Jeux. Il s'est classé sixième à Lima et huitième à Dubaï et détenait le record canadien à la fin de la saison. Ces compétitions étaient ses tout premiers déplacements en dehors de l'Amérique du Nord.
